BAM!
Junior Karate
Ages 5 to 8

In addition to promoting physical fitness, Junior Karate teaches children mental discipline and self-confidence. During class, Junior Karate students engage in fun drills and activities where they learn to sharpen their Karate skills as well as their mental and physical dexterity. Another important aspect of Junior Karate is the emphasis instructors place on extending the discipline outside of the dojo. The martial arts should influence a child's manners, social interaction, and the way he or she approaches schoolwork.

COOL!
Summer KarateROX Camp!

What is Summer KarateROX Camp for Kids all about?
It’s an interactive martial arts edutainment experience unlike any other! Each week follows a particular theme, with related activities, crafts, team and character building exercises. We might be exploring the world of the ancient Samurai one week and making Star Wars lightsabers the next. We learn about different cultures, technologies, food, history, science, art and crafts. Campers learn more about themselves and the world around them as they participate in these outrageously fun learning journeys! Want to see some pictures from the last camp? Check out the photos from 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008!
Also, check out the videos from past camps in our "News" section.

Sounds great! When does the camp run?
Camp runs all August, every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Marvelous! How much does camp cost?
The cost per child is only $35 per day. There is a discount for coming all three days in a given week.

Awesome! What is the schedule?
We begin promptly at 9:00am and go till noon. Campers are to arrive no earlier than 8:50am. Departure is at noon, barring any emergencies. There are no “late pickup” arrangements. We do not add “filler” to our camp, such as going to a swimming pool or fieldtrips. This is not daycare – this is an amazing educational adventure!

Wow! Can my child come just one day or all month?
Unlike a lot of summer camps, our schedule is extremely flexible. Depending on your schedule and needs, your child can come one or two days, one or more weeks, or all August! Often, kids come try a day of our camp, get hooked on it and want to come more. No problem! Please contact us and unless we’re booked, we’ll make room. Please let us know as soon as possible so that we can have enough supplies.

Cool! Does my child need martial arts experience to enjoy camp?
Absolutely not! While many of our ongoing Karate students come to our summer camp, we also have kids that have never studied martial arts. In fact, as word has spread over the years of our camp, we get kids coming that aren’t even interested in martial arts! Yep, it’s that fun!
Our regular Karate classes keep going throughout the summer, too – ask us about them if you or your child is interested in checking out a class for free.

Super! What are the appropriate ages?
Boys and girls from 5 years old and up to 13 are perfect for our camp. Usually, there is a 50/50 balance between boy and girl campers and all activities are appropriate and enjoyable for both.

How do I sign my child up and how do I contact you if I have any further questions?
Just give us a ring at (610) 640-9232. We have already signed up campers and do book up, so sign up today!

What everyone is talking about!

Posted by Keri W, Working Mom, on December 28, 2009:
"The Martial Arts and Fitness Center offers Karate lessons and other martial arts for kids and adults. My two boys take Karate lessons there.

My little one, who is 4 years old, is in the Grasshopper level. In this level, they develop motor and listening skills, which is wonderful for preschoolers.

My other son, who is 6 years old, was promoted to the next level called Junior Karate. In this level, they develop mental discipline and self-confidence, and self-defense.
They do not teach fighting, just self-defense. Another good thing is that they teach the kids gratitude and respect to parents and older people, and also to older kids in the class, who have spent more time taking Karate lessons.

For children’s lessons, there’s only 1 Sensei, who is the owner, and his wife, who is of so much help to the kids. There are not too many kids, which is wonderful.

The Sensei knows so many techniques to get the attention of the kids that his lessons are fun but at the same time with discipline. I think he has a gift. It’s amazing how kids love him. The kids laugh and enjoy his class.

In the Grasshopper class, moms and dads can enter the class for free with their kids. Prices are reasonable. I was paying double for my son in another academy until I found this wonderful one.

They do not play rock music, which I have noticed is fairly common in other places. They also do a demonstration class, where parents are allowed to enter the class and the Sensei explains what they do."

"My oldest son has studied Karate here since he was 3. The instructors could not be nicer, and our son has a blast."

"Love the Karate for kids: This place is great for kids and adults!!! Mr. and Mrs. Knight are amazing teachers. Our son is mildly autistic and the grasshopper karate class is perfect for self control, etc. Can't say enough about how nice the instructors are and how wonderful they are with the kids. We recommend this place to all our friends."
